Scott Rench is a Chicago based artist whose work straddles the world of advertising (where he works during the day as an art director) and the fine arts. Rench combines the traditional medium of ceramics with computers by manipulating images in design programs and screen printing them onto his clay pieces. What emerges is an enthralling combination of two worlds. Rench describes what it is like to work on projects in both a commercial and artistic setting on his website:
"I can no longer keep my ad work and my artwork from influencing each other. Two aspects of the same brain trying to make the world a slightly cooler place one creative project at a time."
